Kedma and Tu B'Shvat
Midreshet started this week on a high after the Kedma competition Motzei Shabbat. Even though we didn't win, Midreshet sounded amazing and you could tell that the months of practice and hard work had paid off... GO MIDMO!!
This week was packed with all sorts of great tiyulim and pe'ulot. On Tuesday, we joined hundreds of other girls to plant trees with Masa and the JNF in honor of Tu'bshvat. As we each used our bare hands to plant the tree, we were reminded of the famous story of Rav Kook who refused a shovel and used his bare hands to plant fruit trees in Israel long ago in order to feel close to admat kodesh. After tree-planting, we were treated to a musical in the beautiful Jerusalem Theater put on by the women of Gush Etzion.
Wednesday night, we headed to the headquarters of Nefesh B'Nefesh, where we partook in a seminar about aliyah and cried and cried as we watched their emotional video...
This week's Mishmar is.......A TU B'SHVAT SEDER!! ...Complete with Israeli dancing and, of course, lots of dried fruits. We look forward to celebrating Tu'Bishvat, Midmo style!!
