Chanukah is Near...
Chanukah is soon upon us! In Midreshet, that means lots of serious learning but also lots of preparation for Chanukah festivities. We began by having our annual chanukiah making contest in the dorms with the Madrichot. Lots of sparkles, feathers, paint and laughter were involved, but as of press time we have yet to determine a winner- they are just all so great!! To spiritually prepare ourselves, Rabbi Lerner took us on Tuesday to hear from Rav Sheinberg in Matisdorf. More holiness followed when on Wednesday we went to hear Rav Nebenzhal, Chief Rabbi of the Old City, who gave us a private shiur on Nes Chanukah. It was an unbelievable experience to be in the presence of such Gedolim before Chanukah. This Sunday night, the first night of Chanukah, we will all be going to our Rakezet's houses for a special Chanukah program. Knowing our Rakazot, Bracha, Rena, P'nina, and Tziporah we will be in for some great Latkes and even better Torah!! Of course, Chanukah would not be complete at Midreshet without our famous CHANUKAH CHAGIGA! There will be lots of dancing, ruach and sufganiyot of course- stay tuned to hear about all the rest of our Chanukah festivities next week!
